What is a Preview or a TAP program?
A way to pilot a specific feature set with a small group of focused participants.
Who can sign up for a Preview or TAP through this site?
Any Global Admin will be able to log onto this site. If you need to have others sign into this site then there are two steps which need to be taken.
A Global Admin must grant this application the required permissions to your tenant. The Global Admin will need to go to https://previews.office.com/account/AdminConsentApp and approve the application.
The additional participants must be added to a Security Group within your organization with a Display Name of 64FCF97B-C498-464e-997A-C5824CD79DCE.
What if I want to use a test company instead of my production organization for the program?
We will frequently refer to your Office 365 or Azure company as a “tenant”. We need to know which tenant you would like to have the Preview features enabled for. This needs to be an existing tenant. If you would like to use a test or trial tenant for the Preview, instead of your production tenant, please create the tenant, then sign up for the program with the Global Admin for the trial tenant. You also have the option to provide your test tenant name during the sign-up process for each program.
What if I don’t have an Office 365 or Azure organization to sign in with?
Where do I find the information for my specific program?
Click on the name of your program from the main programs list page. This will take you to a summary of the program and provide a link to the Yammer group where the content will be stored for each program.
Why don’t I see the program I am looking for?
Some programs are private. In order to sign up for a private program, you’ll need the specific nomination code for that program.
When we have announcements to communicate to our participants, and for conversations among the program participants, we’re using a private Yammer group. If you have problems with any of the program features, first search its Yammer group to see if someone’s already addressed it. The Yammer group will be monitored by the Microsoft Engineering Team.
If I’m using a test or trial tenant, do I have to sign in to Yammer using the Admin from that tenant?
You can sign in to Yammer using your production account. If there’s something specific that needs to be investigated in your participant tenant environment, be sure to point that out.
What if my organization doesn’t allow me to use Yammer?
All of the program interaction with the Microsoft Engineering Team members happens in Yammer. Please request from your organization that an exception be made for the accounts you want to participate in the program. There are no additional licenses required to participate in the Microsoft Pre-Release Programs Yammer network.
How do I let others within my organization participate in Yammer?
The person who initiated the nomination request for the program will automatically be added to the private Yammer group for that program. To add additional members to the private Yammer group for your program, open a bug requesting that their SMTP addresses be added to Yammer. They should receive an invitation to the private group within a week.
How do I provide feedback?
If you have any problems with any of the program features, first search the Yammer group to see if someone’s already addressed it. If there are questions you want to ask privately, send a private Yammer message to Microsoft. If neither of those options will work, open a bug from this site.
How do I open a bug from this site?
From the Programs list view, click on the program you need to create the bug for. Then click “Submit a Bug”. The tenant associated with the bug is prepopulated at the top of the form based on the information you submitted for the program. If you are reporting a bug on a different tenant, ensure you include that in the Description section of the form. Provide as much detail as required for the investigation of your issue. The maximum file size that can be uploaded per bug is 33MB. The maximum number of attachments per bug is 5. Then click "Submit Issue".
What is a “Public” Preview or TAP program?
“Public” programs are available for anyone to join. They’re listed on the main programs list page.
What are the Terms & Conditions?
How long does it take for my request to be approved?
Timelines can shift during the pre-release phase of a program, so we don’t have standard timeframes for approving requests. You’ll receive an email to let you know you have been accepted into the program. If you are accepted into a program, you should see a status change on the programs list page. If the status has changed, but you have not yet received your email notification or Yammer invitation, please file a bug to let us know so we can investigate.
What are the supported browsers for the portal?
